Your Fountain Of Youth

It's not about the miles on the clock it’s about the condition of the engine!
Traditionally a person’s age has been associated with birthdays. Your years increase whether desired or not.
Your chronological age is simply the standard measurement of the passing of time since your birth. It is the age signalled on all-important documents and celebrated on your birthday. A person’s age and the process of aging are two very different things. Your body’s age (biological age) may be less or more than your chronological age.
Charaka Samhita says “Ayurveda (dietary, lifestyle and herbals) gives life to your years and years to your life.”
Modern insight is reaffirming this ancient wisdom as it confirms that the process of aging represented by your biological age can be altered by your lifestyle choices.
What improves life expectancy?
Aging is a reflection of many elements. According to Clinical Psychiatrist Robert F. Morgan researchers of life expectancy have found that longer life can be associated with the following circumstances:
- work satisfaction
- no cardiovascular disease
- low blood pressure
- no cigarette smoking
- high personal happiness
- good health and basic physical functioning
- high intelligence
- a positive view of life
- a useful and satisfying role in society
- sound financial status
- intact marriage
- few worries
- conserving personal energy
- a marriage in which one spouse is younger than the other
- up to the age of 40, looking young for ones age
- not having been aggravated
- having been raised in a small family
- continuing work activity after retirement age
- long-living parents
- having been raised by a young mother
Ayurveda has also developed a special group of herbals to support healthy aging and improve longevity. They are called rasayanas. Our picks to support a long happy life are:
Rejuventation Plus This important rasayana enhances digestion, energy, immunity and helps to provide a happy, long life. It helps to slow cellular aging and supports stamina and healthy bones – all issues that need support as we age.
Maharishi Amrit Kalash - these two formulas are often taken together and deeply nourish and protect your body and mind. Research shows they help to keep your arteries healthy, feed your brain, reduce the impact of stress on your brain, boost the immune response and protect the body from toxic chemicals
Amrit Kalash Nectar tends to have a strong influence on the areas of the body associated with Pitta dosha - skin, eyes, blood, liver, duodenum, as well as the hormonal system.
Ambrosia Impacts more on the tissue levels of asthi (bone) maja (bone marrow and nervous system) and sukra (semen, ovum and fertility). Like the Nectar, Ambrosia also has an effect on medha (fat and sugar metabolism and hormones). It has a strong influence on Vata dosha — bones, marrow, nervous system, with strong links to the immune system.
How to die young at a ripe old age
Many components are involved in healthy aging. The great news is you can feel happy, energised and youthful at any stage of life, with the added benefit of wisdom that comes with increased life experiences.
Hippocrates, over 2,000 years ago in the 5th century BC summarised the key components for health (wholeness), the basis of a longevity:
"Positive health requires knowledge of man's primary constitution and the powers of various foods, both those natural to them and those resulting from human skills. But eating alone is not enough for health. There must be exercise, of which the effects must likewise be known. The combination of these two things makes regimen, when proper attention is given to the seasons of the year, the changes of the winds, the age of the individual and the situation of his home".
Interestingly, Hippocrates incorporates almost every element that we now consider important for improving health and increasing our chances of longer life - namely, genetic makeup, food availability (both fresh and processed), nutrition, exercise, sanitation and hygiene, the weather and a subtle reference to medicine.
So living life in accord with your Ayurvedic mind body type automatically provides the most suitable dietary, exercise and lifestyle choices to support a long and happy life. In addition to manage and reduce the effects of pollution and to support health as we age, I recommend you consider making Rejuventation Plus and Amrit Kalash Ambrosia or Nectar part of your daily routines.
Wishing life to your years and years to your life.
